Gamhariya, also called Gamhariya Parsa, is a village development committee in Rautahat District in the Narayani Zone of south-eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 3851 people living in 729 individual households.
It is rich in its own Tradition and cultural Values. The eldest Islamic School(Madrasa) of Nepal is situated here.Sheikh Ali Baksh is the founder of madrasa followed by his son Sheikh Sujayeet.
Now, Abul kalam azad(Nick name: PHOOL BABU), a descent of Sheikh Ali Baksh, is Chairperson of this Village as well as Area committee of Rautahat District.
Sheikh family is more powerful, rich and educated here mostly from Sheikh Ali Baksh descent.
90 percent population of this village is Muslim. One can find everywhere Muslim environment.
Overall Literacy of this village is quite low but quite high in Islamic studies.
People of this village are farmers and economy fully based on agriculture.But now a days youth like to go abroad and earn some money for their beloved one.
